Tour De Fat Traffic Alert

Duck and Cover: How to Beat the Bikes to City Park Pool

In case you were unaware, the Tour de Fat costumed bicycle parade is happening this Saturday morning. It will most likely interfere with your route to City Park Pool.

The parade kicks off at 9:30 AM from the northeast corner of City Park and loops down Mountain Avenue until 11:30 AM.

The Mission: Reach City Park Pool (1597 City Park Dr) for Duck Race setup without getting swallowed by a sea of costumed cyclists.

The Golden Rule: Avoid Mulberry St, Shields St, and Mountain Ave at all costs unless you enjoy zero-mph gridlock.

The Ninja Route (South Entrance Access Only)
1. Get yourself to Taft Hill Rd.
2. Turn east onto W. Elizabeth St.
3. Turn north onto City Park Ave.
4. Drive straight north across Mulberry St directly into the park’s south entrance.
Boom. You are at the pool.

Timing Strategy
• Before 9:30 AM: Cyclists are swarming and staging at the park’s northeast corner. Use the Ninja Route above and drive carefully to dodge roaming, adult-sized banana costumes.

• 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Parade Active): Mountain Ave is dead to you. The north and east sides of the park are entirely locked down. Stick strictly to the South City Park Ave entrance to get in and out.
